Walking on Sunshine

There are just days you need to get out of the house. Fortune smiled upon us and the ever elusive sun decided to come out to play on Sunday. Who were we to say no?

Tom and I took a drive to White Rock to stretch our legs and breathe in some sea air. Okay bay air but still.

The tide was waaay out so plenty of people were playing with dogs, searching the tidal pools and making sand art.

I guess these are kind of stylized Olympic rings in honour of the upcoming games here next year.

Tom joked that the ladies with the rakes may end up in trubs with the IOC for that. Heh.

Then there was the Super Mario sand drawing which was hard to get a good shot of but pretty neat all the same especially considering the scale.

Sand not your thing? Well them maybe rock balancing is more your pleasure?

It’s either extreme patience or super glue.. you decide.

They were still there after the dude left which amazed us both. We figured some ass-hat would come along and knock em down.

It is a gorgeous place that is so close by, yet feels like you’ve gone somewhere further afield. For the price of parking (if you can luck out and find a space that is, we were lucky right away for a change) you can enjoy the scenery and some pretty nifty places to shop and eat if that’s your fancy.

If not you can always go fly a kite.

I cracked out the Kodak Zi6 for the occasion and I’ve posted the vids below. It was a tad windy though so forgive all the background noise. But what do you want for a cute little pocket cam like that? Pictures are still fab and I’m addicted.
