We didn’t have a schedule-schedule but the plan was to take a trip into Portland and do a little shopping on one of the bad weather days we expected to see. Day four began with rain so we declared it Portland day.
The route we took to Portland was through a lot of woodsy areas and didn’t take that long really, maybe an hour + or so? On-route we saw a lot of “Elk crossing” signs along the way. Now I had never seen an elk up close and personal up to that point, but I know what kind of damage a deer can do to a car if it decides to dart out into traffic so we kept our eyes peeled just in case.
Tom and programmed the location of a Ross and Burlington Coat Factory into the ol’ GPS and we headed there first. I did end up finding a nice coat in Burlington for a great price but Ross was a big fat BUST. There was a mall not too far away with a Macy’s (generally I can find something there) but Macy’s was a wash too. Whateverrrr gave me the green light to get more rings back in Cannon Beach!
We found a Panda Express in the mall and grabbed lunch there (it was gooood!) Yeah I know blah blah mall Chinese but it is GOOD mall Chinese food!
My fortune made me laugh. I mean heck I never ever speak my mind. Ever!
The food court even had free wifi!
We drove around a bit and then had enough of the city and wanted back to the BEEEEEAAAAACH.
The wind was back with a vengeance when we got there. The water was churned up and full of drama and there was sea-foam being blown around the sand like crazy. We had to quickly grab our gear, bundle up and get out there.
Tom could only take it for so long until his “I’m cold” face came out.
There almost looked like there would be a sunset but we were denied when the clouds sank lower in the horizon before the sun could.
Still we couldn’t complain, I mean shoot we were at the beach on vacation, that was already gravy!
